If you’ve ever shopped for mother’s jewelry, you’ve probably made the discovery that we have. There is an awful lot of schlock out there! Lots and lots and lots of tacky, dated, and low quality jewelry designed for mothers. Kind of makes us wonder how highly these tacky retailers value us moms.
So, we always love to share when we come across a jewelry designer/retailer that offers original, current designs made with high quality materials and craftsmanship. We found all of that with Sorella Jewelry Studio, a lovely little Michigan-based design studio founded by two sisters (Sorella is Italian for “sister.” So Cute.)
We first discovered Sorella from a giveaway promotion they participated in with WorkingMother.com. They were featuring their slim and wonderfully simple stacking name rings with birthstone that are so understated and elegant. Then, OffbeatMama.com, a real quirky favorite of ours, did a feature on them, making us really site up and notice.
Sorella Jewelry has quite an extensive collection of original personalized jewelry designs for a small studio. They create pieces in the widest selection of precious metals we’ve ever seen – platinum, palladium, 18k, 14k, and 10k yellow, white and rose gold, and sterling silver. You can get just about any of their pieces in any of these metals. They have rings, pendants, charms, bracelets, and cuff links in a variety of shapes, sizes and styles.
What we really loved is that there really aren’t any limits. You can personalize the pieces in any way you’d like. So, you aren’t limited by narrow Mother’s choices. Sure, you can create name and birthstone rings and pendants, but there are so many more choices. How about stacking Roman Numeral rings with each one holding the birth date of a child? How about a Chinese Symbol pendant that carries the translation for mother ‘n son (or daughter) or your child’s name translated into Chinese characters? How about a hip Family Pendant or Brooch that carries up to 12 grandchildren birthstones? How about … you can come up with endless ideas.
